Since the age of three PhostaChild been showcasing his talents, his earliest performances being dancing to the latest hit records on city sidewalks in front of crowds in the neighborhood. A few years later his parents recognized the potential of his singing voice and enrolled him in the elementary school choir, where he went on to perform in school plays, displaying acting skills as well. By the time he reached junior high school, his exceptional talent was recognized by his band teacher, Mr. Mullins, who allowed him to play with the high school band while leading the junior high band. In addition, he gave P.C. an after school job cleaning the band room, where he studied the music books, learning how to play the scales of every instrument and becoming proficient in all of them. Sharing his time between his father’s home in the area of town known as Westside, and his mother’s home in the inner city of his Ohio hometown, he developed his music experiences. After school on the west side of town, he would hang out with a group of guys who together would become song writers, rappers, and dancers. They performed all around the city known as The Magnitude Rappers. During high school, while commuting back and forth to the inner city where he lived with his mother and went to public school, he performed with a drill team called the Castenettes. Performing also with various local groups like Master MCs and Camouflage Band and Show under the management of Donald Sherman at the Arts Consortium, Magnitude later went on to sign a contract with a local company, Showcase Entertainment, management for Sly Fox. There under manager Napolean Givens they opened for major acts including The Deele, Full Force, The Real Roxanne, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. He toured nationally and internationally with the band Microwave, which produced two top ten hits, Instant Replay and Misunderstood. Later as a solo artist P.C. wrote and produced his debut album Pull Up. In the studio now at Carriage House Entertainment working on an upcoming album to be released in early 2008, his works include collaboratives with Italy, Mickey Joseph, Billay, Juke and Trish. His songs have a lyrical edge and a rich old-meets-new sound. He is also producing two new Carriage House Entertainment artists on their upcoming singles. Music for PhostaChild is not what he does – it’s who he is. You can always find him “cookin’ in the kitchen” - serving up a feast of sounds that will make you keep coming back for more.
